Devil Synopsis

Devil In My Bed is the story of a man at the cross roads of his life and the woman that drifts into it.
It explores the point where exciting passion transforms to just plane crazy and at what point do you let go.
Billy is a blocked writer and Felicity a girl drifting around the dark edges of Memphis. Ready to make the same mistakes again.
This Southern Gothic moving picture follows the sparking of the flame and the inevitable burnout.
Desire and logic don't always mix, Billy must decide.

The Devil in My Bed - Synopsis

The Devil in My Bed
Synopsis

Billy is a writer working as a mechanic on the road of life heading nowhere in particular.
He and his buddy are hanging out in a bar shooting the breeze.
Talking of cars and why Billy won’t show his writing to anyone. A beautiful woman named Felicity walks into the bar suitcase in hand.
Billy and Felicity start an affair just having some fun.
However while Billy is ready to grow and move on with his life Felicity is stuck on a rollercoaster going round and round and is not ready to get off.
It’s a true love and they do their best to hold on but it’s a rough ride.
Things can get crazy, but at what point do you cross the line once to often and can no longer return.
At what point can what once seems charming start to get destructive?
When everything in Billy says you have to let go but his heart, can he.

The Devil-Deconstructed

The Devil-Deconstructed

The criticism I received on my test shot led me to these conclusions.
I am going to eliminate the Cuban accent.
Tighten the script more.
Shoot in a way that considers that I may have to take chunks out for the edit and consider that in my framing and how the lines mingle.
I did an additional rehearsal.

Devil Rehearsal

Finished up the first draft of the script on Saturday night.
I had been collecting props and costumes as well as working on the script this week. Also finalizing the cast and talking to them to get their ideas and the rhythm of their speech so I could work these things into the characters.
Everybody is bringing something extra to movie. Misti Raye Warren (Felicity) has come up with several lines and is contributing songs as well as writing a song with me and sing on songs I've written.
Jonny Prince is playing Spider is also going to be the musical director and record songs and determine if incidental music is needed. He came over on Sunday and went through his lines like a hot knife through butter.
Henry McDaniel (Billy) is bring experience and is sort of the field captain making the less experienced actors feel more secure. Dan Reed (Magico) has sent very helpful scrip notes that I will incorporate into the story.
After Jonny left Misti, Henry and Dan came over for a script reading and this helped with a first rewrite smoothing out things that didn't flow or make sense. They agreed to come back Wednesday evening for another rehearsal before we shoot this weekend.
Misti came over last night to finish writing the song that she will play on the juke box when she enters the bar. We will make a tape of the songs tonight to give to Jonny to consider how to approach them.
We are having some problems with timing and locations but I think everything should work out.
